Estimated DC Charging Time Reference
Illustrative calculation, not a vehicle-specific test: assume a 75kWh usable battery charging from 20% to 80%, adding approximately 45kWh. The examples below use the average power actually entering the battery over that interval, not the station's advertised peak power or the adapter's rating.
| Assumed average battery charging power | Energy added (20% → 80%) | Calculated charging time |
|---|---|---|
| 50kW average | 45kWh added to the battery | About 54 minutes |
| 75kW average | 45kWh added to the battery | About 36 minutes |
| 100kW average | 45kWh added to the battery | About 27 minutes |
Estimate your own reference: minutes ≈ usable battery capacity (kWh) × change in charge level × 60 ÷ average battery charging power (kW). In this example, the change in charge level is 0.60. This is a simplified energy calculation; it is not a forecast from the charger nameplate.
What decides the average? Vehicle BMS and charging curve, battery temperature and state of charge, station output, cable path, and the adapter's current/power limits. A compatible CCS2 DC source → CCS1 vehicle path and manufacturer/operator permission must be confirmed separately; authorization determines whether the session can start, not a promised charging time.
Times describe charging, not driving. They exclude queueing and connection/startup time. Average power already represents tapering and any energy not entering the battery; no unsupported extra loss percentage is added. Actual time may be longer or shorter with different battery capacity or average power. This adapter does not create power, and its 250kW rating is a ceiling, not sustained output.

AC Charging Reference
AC hardware ceiling: 80A MAX. This is a theoretical adapter limit, not a guaranteed charging current. In IEC Type 2 charging applications, usable current must remain within the rating of the complete Type 2 charging path. Actual current and power are limited by the source, connector and cable ratings, circuit capacity, the CCS1 vehicle inlet, the vehicle onboard AC charger, installation, and applicable local standards. This adapter does not create or increase charging power.

AC/DC boundary: use the DC path only with compatible CCS2 DC fast-charging sessions, and use the AC path only with compatible Type 2 AC sources. This adapter does not reverse the direction or override charger, vehicle, cable, BMS, or network authorization limits.
FAQ
No. This is an AC/DC dual-mode adapter. The DC path is for compatible CCS2 DC fast-charging sources, and the AC path is for compatible Type 2 AC charging sources.
No. DC and AC ratings are separate. The DC path is rated up to 250kW / 250A DC, while the AC path is rated up to 80A AC MAX hardware ceiling · up to 250V.
Use it when the charging source side is CCS2 Combo DC or Type 2 AC, and the vehicle side is CCS1. It is not for charging a CCS2 vehicle from a CCS1 source.

I bought the CCS2 to CCS1 AC/DC dual-mode adapter after comparing it with a few Amazon options. ChargePapa's specs were clearer and the adapter arrived exactly as pictured. Delivery to the UK took just under three weeks and the packaging was excellent.
The reflective sticker was a nice extra. Also, pin finishing looks noticeably cleaner.
This was mainly for occasional fast charging. It now stays with my charging cable. Also, the latch released normally afterward.
Pin finishing looks noticeably cleaner. It stood out because the product diagram answered my question.
Support checked both connector photos. The sealed outer layer protected the box. It seems like a sensible replacement.
I bought it before a border trip. The case protects the exposed contacts. It seems like a sensible replacement.
A longer trip made me buy a backup. The pins arrived clean and straight. It now stays with my charging cable.
The carrying case feels genuinely useful. Online listings kept reversing the direction; support replied with a specific answer.
The replacement vehicle uses another standard; its weight suits the hardware inside.
My earlier connector was difficult to insert. The main difference is that pin finishing looks noticeably cleaner.
The connector I replaced kept binding. The main difference is that the latch released normally afterward.
The previous plug needed too much force. The body feels more substantial than expected. The warranty helped me decide.
Cool another google recommendation turns out good
Support checked both connector photos; waterproof wrap kept the inner box dry. The reflective sticker was a nice extra.
i am only shopping for fast charging now
I only need it at some DC stops. The first test was reassuring.
