Before You Buy a Movable DC Fast Charger

DC chargers are very different from home AC chargers.
They work like mini DC fast-charging stations and require special power conditions.
Please read this checklist carefully to ensure the product fits your needs.

1. Understand the Power Requirement (Most Important)

A movable DC charger cannot be powered by a normal household outlet.

✔ Your home outlet provides:

  • US: 120V AC / 240V AC
  • EU/UK/China: 220–240V AC

✔ But this DC charger requires:

  • DC 200–750V input

This means:

❌ You cannot directly plug it into a wall socket

❌ You cannot use NEMA 5-15 / 14-50 / EU Schuko / UK 3-pin

❌ You cannot use a typical home AC circuit

✔ You must prepare a DC power source, such as:

  • A DC battery pack / battery group
  • A DC industrial power supply
  • A solar + storage system with DC output
  • A workshop/garage DC bus
  • A vehicle-to-load (DC) system (only specific models)
  • A laboratory / engineering test power supply

2. Understand What This Product Does

  • It bypasses the vehicle’s onboard charger and delivers direct DC power to the battery.
  • It works similarly to a small DC fast-charging station.
  • Charging is much faster than Level 1/2 AC chargers, but only when the correct DC input is provided.

3. Output Connector Compatibility

Choose the connector according to your vehicle:

  • CCS1 → North America
  • CCS2 → Europe / UK / Australia
  • (CHAdeMO is being phased out; Tesla uses NACS, not included by default)

Make sure the connector matches your car exactly.

4. Prepare the Required Accessories

Depending on your setup, you may need:

DC input cables (rated for high voltage)

  • Ensure correct polarity
  • Ensure correct thickness and insulation
  • Ensure connectors match your DC source

Proper grounding

DC fast chargers require stable grounding to operate safely.

Ventilation / cooling space

The device produces heat under high load.

✔ Optional add-ons (from your chart):

  • External display
  • Output protection box
  • Upgrade auxiliary power to 24V (recommended for stability)

5. Safety Requirements & User Skill Level

This equipment is suitable for users who:

✔ Have basic understanding of:

  • DC high-voltage systems
  • Polarity (+ / –)
  • Industrial power equipment
  • Wiring and grounding
  • EV charging principles
  • ❗ Not suitable for users who expect:
  • “Plug into the wall and use immediately”
  • “Same as home AC chargers”
  • “I have no DC source but want fast charging at home”

6. What You Must Confirm Before Purchasing

✔ Do you already have a DC 200–750V power source?

If not → Do NOT buy.

✔ Do you know how to connect DC input safely?

If not → find an electrician or technician.

✔ Does your car support the output connector (CCS1 / CCS2)?

If not → incompatible.

✔ Do you understand this product is not a home Level 2 AC charger?

It is a compact DC fast charger, requiring the correct setup.

7. What You May Need to Purchase Separately

Depending on your power source:

  • DC rated cables
  • Fuses / breakers
  • Grounding equipment
  • Input connectors
  • Cooling/ventilation fans
  • Protection box (recommended)

8. Auxiliary Power: Should You Choose 12V or 24V?

This is internal to the machine, not something you supply.

✔ 12V

  • Standard
  • Suitable for light use

✔ 24V (recommended)

  • More stable
  • Better for long sessions
  • Higher compatibility with industrial relays and cooling fans
  • Only +100 RMB upgrade

For personal buyers, 24V is recommended for long-term reliability.
