What V2L Does — and Doesn't
V2L routes AC electricity from your EV's main traction battery to external devices via a discharge adapter. It is not V2G (grid export) or V2H (home backup) — it is a portable, adapter-only power output requiring no installation, no electrician, no grid connection. The V2L-EU adapter plugs directly into your BYD's Type 2 port to enable this.

V2L vs V2G vs V2H: V2L = appliances via adapter (this guide). V2G = grid export (needs bidirectional charger + utility). V2H = home circuits (needs bidirectional EVSE + electrician). BYD Atto 3 and Seal EU-spec support V2L only.

Verify Your Trim First
V2L is trim-gated. Not every Atto 3 or Seal sold in Europe includes the hardware. Confirm before ordering an adapter.
