The 2022–2024 IONIQ 5 uses a CCS1 port and requires a NACS-to-CCS1 DC adapter to access Tesla Superchargers. Built on Hyundai's 800V E-GMP platform, the IONIQ 5 Long Range supports DC fast charging up to 220 kW. At 1,000V DC (Supercharger V3 operating voltage), that equals 220A continuous through the adapter. A 500A-rated adapter carries that load at 44% of rated capacity.
The 2025 IONIQ 5 switched to a native NACS port and plugs directly into Superchargers without an adapter. It does, however, need a J1772-to-NACS adapter to access J1772 Level 2 stations, which still represent the majority of public AC charging locations.
