Why the Plug Shape Is the Easy Part

GB/T Vehicles (China-spec BYD)
Speak CAN Bus, defined in GB/T 27930. Uses a separate dedicated CAN network — completely different from PLC.

What “Active Protocol Converter” Actually Means
An active protocol converter is a device with its own processor that runs the communication handshake on both sides simultaneously. This works in three steps:
Step 1
The converter receives the PLC session request from the CCS2 charger.
Step 2
Its processor translates the session parameters into CAN Bus format in real time — including voltage negotiation, current ramp, and session termination.
Step 3
The converted signal is sent to the vehicle’s GB/T port as if it came from a native GB/T charger. The vehicle never knows it’s talking to a CCS2 charger. The charger never knows it’s connected to a GB/T vehicle.

How to Use It at a European Fast Charger
Compatible with Ionity, Allego, Fastned, bp pulse, Lidl Charge, and all standard CCS2 DC fast charging networks.
- Park at any CCS2 DC fast charger.

Compatible with CCS2 DC fast chargers across the EU, UK, and AU networks. The adapter handles the protocol layer; the charging network’s own authorization (RFID, app, Plug & Charge) handles payment as normal. Not compatible with AC-only Type 2 chargers.
Does the adapter limit charging speed below the charger’s rated output?
The CPCADA0006 is rated to 200A / 200kW. Actual session speed is determined by the minimum of: charger output, vehicle’s onboard DC acceptance rate, and adapter ceiling (200A). Most China-spec BYD models accept up to 100–120kW DC, so the adapter does not become the bottleneck in typical use.
Can I update the firmware myself?
