ChargePapa V2L-US
High-Power EV Discharger — US Output Configuration
The ChargePapa V2L-US is a high-power vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharger available with NACS (SAE J3400) or CCS1 input, depending on configuration. It converts your vehicle's high-voltage DC battery output into stable 120V or 240V AC pure sine wave power — delivering up to 5kW continuous output through standard US household sockets. This is a one-way, off-board high-voltage DC-to-AC discharger with its own inverter. It does not charge your vehicle and does not require the vehicle to have a factory AC V2L inverter or the conventional AC V2L function used by passive adapters.

⚠️ Important — Read Before Purchase
- This is a discharge-only device. It does not charge your EV.
- The unit performs DC-side precharge as part of initiating the high-voltage discharge connection. Continuous operation still depends on the vehicle-side control system authorizing and maintaining the discharge session.
- Standard configuration ships with US output sockets (Type B): 1× NEMA 5-20R + 1× NEMA 5-15R. If you need a different socket type, please leave your required socket type in the order note at checkout, or email us immediately after placing your order with your order number.
Step 1 — Match Your Vehicle's Charge Port
Both configurations deliver identical output: NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R sockets, up to 5kW continuous, pure sine wave. The only difference is the input connector that plugs into your vehicle. Select the one that matches your EV's charge port.

Step 2 — Your Use Case (Both Configurations Identical)
Once you've selected the right input connector, both variants support the same use cases at the same power level.
🏕️
Camping & Overlanding
Power lights, fans, cooking gear, and devices off-grid. Up to 5kW continuous from your EV battery.
🛠️
Jobsite Power
Run power tools, compressors, and site equipment where grid power is unavailable. Peak 9kW @ 300s.
🏠
Emergency Backup
Keep essential appliances running during outages. Pure sine wave output safe for sensitive electronics.
🔌 Input Configuration Options
Select the input connector that matches your vehicle's charge port. Output sockets (NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R) are identical across both configurations. The discharger has its own inverter and does not require factory AC V2L. Compatibility with a specific vehicle still depends on vehicle-side authorization of the high-voltage discharge session.
| Configuration | Input Connector | Connector Standard | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| V2L-US / NACS | NACS | SAE J3400 | NACS-port EVs — verify exact model and year |
| V2L-US / CCS1 | CCS1 | SAE J1772 + DC combo | CCS1-port EVs — verify exact model and year |
⚠️ Physical connector fit is only one requirement. Continuous discharge depends on vehicle-side session authorization and may vary by model, model year, software, market configuration, battery state of charge, and vehicle protection logic.

🚗 Compatibility
The V2L-US is available for NACS (SAE J3400) or CCS1 vehicle inlets and uses its own inverter to convert high-voltage DC battery power into 120V or 240V AC output. It does not require the vehicle to have a factory AC V2L inverter. The unit performs DC-side precharge before the high-voltage discharge connection is established. Vehicle compatibility still depends on whether the vehicle-side control system authorizes and continues to maintain the discharge session. Model year, software version, market configuration, battery state of charge, and vehicle protection logic may affect operation. Contact us with your exact vehicle and model year if it has not been individually tested.

⚠️ A matching NACS or CCS1 connector does not by itself confirm continuous operation. Vehicle-side authorization and control logic may vary by model, model year, software, market configuration, and battery state of charge.

✅ Standards & Certifications
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the ChargePapa V2L-US charge my EV?
No. The V2L-US (EVI3000-US) is a discharge-only device. It converts your vehicle's DC battery power into 120V or 240V AC output for powering external devices. It does not supply power to your vehicle's battery.
Q: Which input configuration should I choose — NACS or CCS1?
Select the configuration that matches your vehicle's charge port. NACS (SAE J3400) is used on certain EVs with a NACS-format port. CCS1 (SAE J1772 combo) is used on many non-Tesla EVs sold in North America. Both configurations deliver identical output: NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R sockets at up to 5kW continuous. The discharger has its own inverter and does not require factory AC V2L. Compatibility with a specific vehicle still depends on its control system authorizing and maintaining the high-voltage discharge session.
Q: Does my vehicle need a factory AC V2L function?
No. Unlike a passive V2L adapter, the V2L-US is an off-board high-voltage DC-to-AC discharger with its own inverter. It performs DC-side precharge, but the vehicle must still authorize and maintain the high-voltage discharge session through its vehicle-side control logic.
Q: Does the V2L-US output a pure sine wave?
Yes. The V2L-US (EVI3000-US) outputs a pure sine wave AC signal, making it suitable for powering sensitive electronics and motor-driven loads within the rated output capacity.
Q: What can I power with the V2L-US?
The V2L-US delivers up to 5kW continuous AC output (peak 9kW @ 300s) through a NEMA 5-20R and a NEMA 5-15R socket — suitable for tools, appliances, camping equipment, or emergency backup loads within the rated output capacity. Always verify the load requirements of your devices before use.
Q: What certifications does the V2L-US carry?
The ChargePapa V2L-US (EVI3000-US) carries UL 458 (Underwriters Laboratories power converter standard) and UN 38.3 (United Nations transport safety testing) certifications. An MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) is available upon request.
Q: I need a different output socket type. Can I request this?
Yes. The standard configuration ships with US output sockets (Type B): 1× NEMA 5-20R + 1× NEMA 5-15R. If you need a different socket type, you have two options: (1) leave your required socket type in the order note at checkout, or (2) email us immediately after placing your order and include your order number. Other socket configurations require additional customization time. We will confirm your request before processing.
⚠️ Critical Usage Note
- Confirm vehicle-specific compatibility before use. Continuous discharge depends on the vehicle-side control system maintaining authorization; model year, software, market configuration, battery state of charge, and vehicle protection logic may affect operation.
- Do not exceed the rated continuous output power of the unit.
- Do not connect loads that exceed the rated output capacity of the NEMA 5-20R or NEMA 5-15R sockets.
- This product is intended for use by technically competent users familiar with high-voltage EV systems and electrical safety practices.
- IP rating and working temperature range are TBD — pending supplier confirmation. Do not use in environments beyond confirmed operating parameters.
