ChargePapa V2L-US | High-Power EV Discharger (120V / 240V AC / 5kW)
Couldn't load pickup availability
V2L-US High-Power Discharger
120V / 240V AC portable power from a compatible EV port.
Choose NACS or CCS1 by your vehicle-side connector.

Will this power my setup?
Match the EV-side plug first, then keep your total load within the 120V / 240V output rating.
Choose the right variant
| Variant | SKU | Choose this when... | Output side |
|---|---|---|---|
| NACS | CP-V2LUS-NACS | Your compatible EV-side discharge path uses a NACS / SAE J3400 connector. | NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R |
| CCS1 | CP-V2LUS-CCS1 | Your compatible EV-side discharge path uses a CCS1 connector. | NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R |
Choose by the EV-side connector and supported discharge behavior, not by country alone. Imported vehicles and software differences can change the correct path.
What can a 5kW V2L-US discharger run?
| Load type | Typical draw | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Phone, laptop, router, LED lights | 50–500W combined | Comfortable use case for outage support, work setup, or camping. |
| Fridge / freezer | 100–800W running | Check compressor startup surge before stacking other loads. |
| Microwave, coffee maker, kettle | 800–2200W typical | Use one high-draw appliance at a time unless total draw and surge stay within range. |
| Power tools / mobile service gear | 500–2000W typical | Motor startup draw can be much higher than running wattage. |
| 240V equipment | Up to 5kW continuous path | Use only when the output configuration, plug, cable, and load are all suitable for 240V operation. |
These are planning references, not compatibility guarantees. Always check the appliance label, startup surge, plug type, and vehicle output behavior before connecting high-draw equipment.
V2L Output Type Comparison
| Model | Vehicle side | AC output | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| CP-V2LUS-NACS / CP-V2LUS-CCS1 (This) | NACS or CCS1 | 120V / 240V AC · up to 5kW | US high-power output with own inverter. |
| CP-V2LEU-CCS2 | CCS2 | 230V AC · up to 5kW | EU high-power output with own inverter. |
| CP-KL-NS-V2L | NACS V2L-enabled vehicle port | 125V AC · 20A · 2.5kW | Compact passive NACS V2L use. |
| MRS-ESDPS-1 | Type 2 V2L-capable vehicle port | 220–250V AC · 16A · 3.5kW | EU multi-socket passive V2L strip. |
| CPCADA0037 | Type 2 V2L-capable vehicle port | 240V AC · 16A · 3.7kW | Single Schuko outlet use. |
| CPCADA0038 | Type 2 V2L-capable vehicle port | 240V AC · 16A · 3.7kW | UK BS 1363 outlet use. |
| CP-KL-ADP-035 | J1772 V2L-capable vehicle port | NEMA 5-15 · 15A · 1.8kW | Lower-power US passive outlet use. |
High-power V2L-US / V2L-EU units have their own inverter. Passive V2L plugs and outlet strips require the vehicle to support AC V2L output through that port.

FAQ
Does this require my vehicle to have a factory AC V2L inverter?
No. This high-power V2L-US unit has its own inverter. It does not work like a passive V2L plug that relies on factory AC V2L output. The vehicle still has to authorize and maintain the high-voltage discharge session.
Which variant should I choose?
Choose the NACS variant if your compatible vehicle-side discharge path uses NACS / SAE J3400. Choose the CCS1 variant if your compatible vehicle-side discharge path uses CCS1. The output side remains US-style NEMA 5-20R + NEMA 5-15R.
Will it work with every Tesla or every CCS1 EV?
No universal compatibility claim is made. Supplier feedback indicates many Tesla-user purchases and tests with no known issue, but sustained discharge can still depend on model year, software, market configuration, SOC, and BMS behavior.
What about 2023 Polestar 2?
That specific vehicle configuration has not been confirmed. The unit performs DC-side precharge to meet vehicle-side voltage requirements, but whether output continues depends on the vehicle’s BMS and protection logic.
Can I connect it to home wiring?
No direct home-wiring or grid-backfeed use should be assumed. Use it for portable AC loads only unless the entire electrical system is professionally designed, approved, and compliant with local requirements.
